OONI Probe is developed by the Open Observatory of Network Interference (OONI), a free software project under The Tor Project that is dedicated to exposing internet censorship worldwide. Since its establishment in 2012, OONI's global community has collected millions of network measurements from over 200 countries, shining a light on numerous cases of network interference.

With OONI Probe, you can assess the presence and methods of website and instant messaging app blockages. The data collected through network measurements can serve as compelling evidence of internet censorship.
Identify censorship and surveillance systems
OONI Probe tests are specifically designed to detect systems known as middleboxes that may be responsible for censorship and surveillance activities.
Analyze network speed and performance
By utilizing OONI's implementation of the Network Diagnostic Test (NDT), you can accurately measure the speed and performance of your network. Additionally, the Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) test allows you to evaluate video streaming performance.
Transparent publishing of data
OONI believes in the power of open data, which enables third parties to verify OONI's findings, conduct independent studies, and address other research inquiries.
